Barbara Bergin's Writing

In addition to her orthopedic surgery practice, Dr. Barbara Bergin is a published author. Her first novel, Endings, published in 2007, received Honorable Mention status in the general fiction category of the 2008 Eric Hoffer Awards and was a finalist in the New Mexico Book Awards.

Endings was the #1 seller in Austin, and Dr. Bergin toured many cities and towns in Texas, including Austin and San Antonio. The book continues to generate interest because it blends many elements from Dr. Bergin’s professional and personal life, including medicine, horseback riding, marriage, and motherhood. Her second novel, The Wish, is a work in progress.
